CIPPing
This is USA Rugby’s required player insurance. For players who are new to rugby, we don’t mind if you try out a few practices before you CIPP, but as soon as you’re committed (ideally before you do any contact at practice), please register! You MUST be CIPPed to play in any game.
CIPPing instructions:
in the top right corner, click sign in
then click “Create a Rugby Xplorer Account”
once you finish, find the ‘register’ button
click through to register with the ‘Colorado Springs Pikes Peaks’ Senior Women’s Club’
pay the registration fee (usually around $85)
if the registration fee is a problem, please contact a board member so we can make a plan to help you out

World Rugby Protocols
It is not necessarily uncommon for rugby players to minimize or omit concussion symptoms to keep playing or return to play faster. Hiding concussion symptoms is not okay. Just a reminder that this is your brain we're talking about. You need it for the rest of your life. No game is worth returning before your body is ready. We will follow World Rugby's return-to-play guidance for concussions. Please look through that information below
Injury Prevention
Our warm-ups are designed to get our bodies ready for practice/games as well as strengthen them to prevent lower-body injuries. This alone is not enough. We need to use our limited practice time to practice, so we ask that players do injury prevention in their own time. Prevention is a crucial part of keeping your body healthy and strong. Here is one resource specific to ACL injury prevention.
Studies have shown that female athletes are up to eight times more likely to suffer an ACL injury than male athletes
All other injuries will require being cleared by your PT or medical provider. Coaches will make roster decisions based on any observable signs.
